Chocolate Caramel Bars

 

2 ¼ Cups All Purpose Flour

2 Cups Quick Oats

1 ½ C packed Brown Sugar

1 tsp. Baking Soda

½ tsp. Salt

1 ½ Cups Cold Butter – 3 sticks

2 Cups (12 oz) Bag of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

1 Cup chopped Pecans

12 oz. Jar of Caramel Ice Cream Topping

 

Use pastry blender or mix by hand 2 Cups of the Flour, Oats, Sugar, Butter, Soda, and Salt. If mixing by hand, cut in the butter till crumbly. Divide this mixture in half.

Press half of the above into a greased 9 X 13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Sprinkle on the Chocolate Chips, and Pecans. Mix Ice Cream Topping with the remaining ¼ cup of Flour and pour over the chips and nuts.

Crumble the remaining divided mixture and sprinkle it on the top.

 

Bake for another 18 – 20 minutes.

 

Cool for 2 hours
