PEANUT BUTTER CUPCAKES

1/2 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 teas. vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups plain flour
2 teas. baking powder
1/2 teas. salt
1 cup milk

Cream 1/2 cup peanut butter with 1/3 cup shortening.
Gradually add 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, beating until light.
Add 1 teas. vanilla and 2 eggs, one at a time, beating until fluffy.

Sift together: 2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 teas. baking powder, 1/2 teas. salt. Add to peanut butter mixture, alternately with 1 cup milk, beating after each addition.

Fill paper baking cups in muffin pans 1/2 full. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Cool and frost with peanut butter or melt 6 ounces chocolate drops and 2 tablespoons white corn syrup and drizzle over cupcakes.

Note!
To save time, a boxed yellow cake mix combined with peanut butter, brown sugar and vanilla is just as good.
