TEA CAKES

2 Sticks Butter, softened
4 Eggs at room temperature
2 tsp. Nutmeg
1 tsp. Baking Powder
2 1/4 cups sugar
5 Cups Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/3 Cup Milk or Buttermilk

Mix butter and sugar until creamy and smooth. Add eggs one at a time; whip until fluffy. Sift together flour, nutmeg, baking soda and baking powder and set aside. Gradually add milk and vanilla to creamed mixture. Gradually add flour mixture until batter begins to stiffen. Put dough on a floured board. Roll and cut or spoon drop mixture onto greased cookie sheet 2" apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
